دوافع التركيز على حقوق الملكية الفكرية في الاتفاقات التجارية الجكومية والثنائية

Abstract

Recent WTO and UNCTAD statistics show the fast growing process of regional and bilateral agreements as well as a radical change in their nature and scope to include goods and services – i.e investment, intellectual property and security and political aspects. This has led us to raise questions about the motives at a time when multilateral negotiations are taking place with a view of liberalizing the movement of goods and services in response to globalization. The first section of this paper concentrates on the main characteristics of these agreements and their motives. As for the second section, it is concerned with the reasons behind the extension of these agreements to intellectual property and its expected effects in this context.
