Résumé: | The rotary power or circular birefringence is the property that certain media tend to rotate the plane of polarization of a light beam passing through them. These media are generally liquids or solids in solution.
The main consequence is that a light ray entering with a rectilinear polarization in the considered medium comes out with a different orientation of its polarization.
The goal of our work is the calibration of two devices which are the digital polarimeter and the Raman spectrometer and their uses for the characterization of the optical rotation and other optical and physicochemical parameters of olive oils from different regions. from Algeria and natural sugars.
The results found showed that olive oils and natural sugars (stevia and fructose) have negative rotatory power. Raman laser spectroscopy has shown that the olive oils analyzed have a very good level of chlorophyll, which is a chemical compound that is very important for health. |
