Résumé: | The refractive disturbance measurement makes it possible to obtain the necessary compensation in order to provide the patient with the best possible visual acuity without having to deliver an accommodative effort for far vision.
The prescription of the correction is usually adapted with two methods of refraction: objective and subjective.
The aim of this study was to assess the differences between the values of objective and subjective refraction.
We conducted a study that involved 15 pairs of eyes belonging to 15 children and adults who were seen in consultation. Objective refraction was performed with the autorefractor, without cycloplegia for adults and with Mydriaticum for children. Subjective refraction is based on the fog method and CCR.
The 15 patients considered all have normal binocular vision; their correction does not vary much and the value of the subjective refraction is slightly lower than the value by the autorefractor. The different valuesof VA measured after subjective refraction give better results than with objective refraction. |
