| Résumé: | The calculation of pressure drop coefficients is of great importance in the field of hydraulic engineering. This calculation is usually done by complex implicit formulas and explicit formulas and for this reason, we have developed a numerical code with Matlab software, this algorithmic process allows to make comparative systematic calculations.
In addition, we have grouped the different explicit formulas used for the calculation of the friction coefficient. Then we calculated their errors in relation to the implicit formula of Colebrook with a range of data (Re, epsilon/D) defined and valid for all the equations. The results show that there is always some error between these formulas.
We also used graphical contours to estimate the error between these models and we found that the Colebrook formula is still the best for estimating the value of friction coefficient even if there are explanatory formulas with less error |
