Résumé: | Ceramic glazes give the ceramic surface a smooth appearance, making it waterproof and thus making it easier to clean. In addition, the strength of porous and thin shards is often enhanced by this deposition of thin layers. The objective of this work is to develop a thin vitreous layer of the enamel type deposited on a ceramic shard. The raw materials used for this purpose are provided by the company SEKCERAM. First, we characterized the company starting materials and then developed our own enamel using local materials. The results found revealed by XRF analysis of the two glossy and matte enamels as well as their corresponding frits supplied by the company, that the glossy enamel consists mainly of frit, while for the matte enamel a fairly substantial addition of Kaolin, feldspar and other elements is essential. The XRD results confirmed that the glossy enamel consists predominantly of the vitreous phase constituting the amorphous frit. |
