Résumé: The formation of Co–Mo deposits by electrodeposition is an induced process. This means that cobalt ions are necessary for the reduction of molybdate species which is incomplete in aqueous solution. The aim of this work is the preparation of deposits of Co-Mo from a sulfate medium (without additives) and there morphological, structural and magnetic characterizations. The cyclic voltammetry was one of the main techniques used to determine the conditions of the electrodeposition. It shows that the codeposition of Co-Mo alloys was accompanied by concurrent reactions such as the formation of the molybdenum oxide and the hydrogen evolution reaction. The study of the first stage of nucleation and growth by using the theoretical model of Scharifker-Hills shows that the nucleation is instantaneous.
