Résumé: | The turning process parameters of A6060 silicon magnesium aluminum alloy and XC25 steel for high material removal rate with low surface roughness were investigated and optimized using Taguchi's L9 table. The experiment was conducted with three process parameters, namely cutting speed (N), feed rate (a) and depth of cut (P).The influence of the cutting parameters on the surface roughness (Ra) and the material removal rate (Me) have been resolved using ANOVA which clearly shows that the cutting speed (N) and thefeed rate (a) are statistically the factors that have the greatest influence on the surface roughness with the contributions 70.17% and 51.33% for the two materials respectively, on the other hand the depth of pass factor (P)is the influential parameter the material removed with the contributions 47.09%, and 92.12% for the two materials respectively.ANOVA analysis reveals that the optimal combination are N = 1120 rev/min, a = 0.6 mm/rev and p = 0.7 mm and N = 1400 rev/min, a = 0.2 mm/revand p = 0.7 mm for machining steel and aluminum alloy respectively. |
