La prise en charge des hétérophories

Abstract

Many optometrists can assess and establish the management of heterophoria to avoid these consequences. Different treatments correct heterophoria, such as optical correction, addition, visual therapy, and prisms, and each case has its treatment. For all the cases encountered, heterophoria was measured from far and near by the Maddox glass test, and the fusion reserves were measured using two prism bars. We found one case well compensated and 5 cases poorly compensated. For the well-compensated case, we prescribed just an optical correction because it is already ametrope; for the other cases, we prescribed some patients an optical correction with visual rehabilitation, another with an optical correction with an addition, and the other with prisms. The prismatic prescription of low power caused diplopia and asthenophic complaints.
