Résumé: | A fiber Bragg grating (FBG) is a type of distributed Bragg reflector constructed in a short segment of optical fiber that reflects wavelengths of light and transmits all others.
This is achieved by creating a periodic variation in the refractive index of the fiber core, which generates a wavelength specific dielectric mirror.
Fiber Bragg Grating has several applications such as optical filter, to correct chromatic dispersion and sensor and to realize some optic equipment.
In this thesis, we have performed a study about Fiber Bragg Grating sensors and we have simulated two kinds of these sensors. We have used the software OptiGrating to simulate some samples and have found out that the sensibility is greater for the long period sensor, than for the short period sensor (FBG). |
