Résumé: Automatic refractometry is a simple method of evaluating ocular refraction. However, it does not give an exact measure of ametropia due to residual accommodation. Refractive defects or ametropia are represented by all situations where the optical system of the eye does not allow to focus the image of an object on the retina. The study of the cycloplegic effect on ocular refraction includes 100 patients of different age groups. This shows that visual complaints of asthenopia and headaches are the key to opening the diagnosis while looking for a poorly or uncorrected ametropia. There is no ideal cycloplegiant eye drops. Cycloplegic eye drops affect the visual system by a change in spherical, cylindrical and astigmatism axis values. As well as eye biometrics, that undergoes changes during the mydriatic and cycloplgic effect. The choice of eye drops and the final optical correction is a superficial act based mainly on the patient himself.
