Résumé: Abstract This work addresses the development of a geopolymer paste from a binary mixture consisting of blast furnace slag from the SIDER El HADJAR metallurgical plant (Annaba) and chamotte from the industrial recovery of the Guelma ceramics unit. An alkaline solution, composed of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) with three different molarities (2M, 6M, and 10M) and sodium silicate with a module of 1.9, is used to stimulate the geopolymerization reaction. The precursor percentages (CH50LHF50 and CH30LHF70) as well as the S/L ratio (2.5 and 3) were also varied. The first part of the experimental study focuses on the preparation and characterization of the raw materials. The second part concentrates on the study of the synthesized geopolymer pastes. Physical and mechanical characterizations were performed to determine the optimal formulation and curing conditions, thus enabling the production of a high-performance geopolymer paste. The results obtained are largely satisfactory and demonstrate the possibility of developing local geopolymer materials based on blast furnace slag and chamotte. This alternative to conventional polluting binders contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
