Résumé: The use of plastic waste and biomass fillers is increasing, as they constitute easily accessible and sustainable resources. This thesis significantly advances the use of plastic waste and a local natural fiber in 3D printing to create biosourced, sustainable and renewable raw materials. Arundo donax L. is examined in this study as a suitable reinforcing agent for PLA/waste PP-based 3D printing filament. To improve the compatibility between fiber and polymer, Arundo fiber has been chemically modified by alkaline and silane treatment. The effect of chemical treatment on the thermal, mechanical and morphological properties of the composites wa studied. The 3D printed specimens were also tested for tensile strength, Izod impact and water absorption. Composites treated with alkali (ALK) and combination of alkali and silane treatment (SLN) showed good results. The tensile strength and elastic modulus of the materials increased, as well as their stability maintained during the Izod impact test, demonstrating that the incorporation of Arundo fiber did not result in a loss of performance. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM)examination corroborated these findings by confirming the creation of beneficial interfacial contacts between the matrix and fiber components.
