Contribution à l’amélioration de la technique de codage par prédiction linéaire des signaux physiques : Application à l’analyse /synthèse de signaux

Abstract

This master thesis present a study of the linear predictive coding (LPC) technique and its limitations in the domain of speech signal synthesis. This technique has been simulated on various phonemes pronounced by male and female persons. The simulation results show the limitations of the LPC performance during the speech synthesis. We have then proposed to associate the phase information with LPC in order improve the quality of the synthesized signals. The analysis procedure is modified by applying the short term Fourier transform to the speech signal in order to have the phase information to gether with the AR model (LPC) . The synthesis procedure is based on an iterative algorithm which uses both phase and amplitude information.
