Résumé: As you step into the world of higher education, it is easy to look at your &#xD;
upcoming years and think that becoming a biologist is solely about lab work, &#xD;
field data, and exam scores. While those are undeniably vital, there is another &#xD;
parallel skill set that separates a good student from a thriving scientist: the &#xD;
ability to communicate. Science does not happen in a vacuum; a brilliant &#xD;
discovery loses its impact if it cannot be clearly explained, rigorously defended, &#xD;
or shared with the global community. That is exactly why we have designed &#xD;
this module to give you a solid foundation in the core communication and &#xD;
expression techniques you will use throughout your academic journey and your &#xD;
future career. Over the coming  chapters, you will systematically build these &#xD;
habits, starting with mastering foundational biological terminology to help you &#xD;
transition into the precise lexicon of professional science. From there, you will &#xD;
learn active reading and note-taking techniques designed to help you efficiently &#xD;
decipher, dissect, and critically evaluate dense scientific literature. Because &#xD;
sharing your findings is just as critical as discovering them, you will also break &#xD;
down the art of presentation, teaching you how to distill complex data into &#xD;
engaging oral presentations and visually compelling scientific posters. Lastly, &#xD;
since modern science is inherently a team  work, you will develop the &#xD;
interpersonal skills and group problem-solving strategies necessary to &#xD;
collaborate effectively and navigate complex team dynamics. By the end of this &#xD;

Résumé: A  solid foundation in work methodology and terminology gives first-year Bachelor of &#xD;
Science students the knowledge and skills to explore key aspects of scientific research, paving &#xD;
the way for a thriving career in biology. This module provides a comprehensive set of tools &#xD;
to help students deepen the essential knowledge that will prepare them to excel in the field of &#xD;
scientific research. Students will begin to understand the language of science through &#xD;
terminology. They will then learn how writing a scientific report is also the most common &#xD;
scientific communication. Mastering this essential skill leads to better collaboration and easier &#xD;
access to interdisciplinary knowledge. Although a scientific report provides a formal version &#xD;
of the results of a scientific experiment or project. It is basically a method to communicate &#xD;
and transfer knowledge with other people in the same field. Subsequently, students will learn &#xD;
to read, analyse and understand scientific articles in a critical manner. They will be ready to &#xD;
actively participate in scientific discussions and effectively communicate your research results &#xD;
to the scientific community. The skill targeted by this module, as a whole, is “helping students &#xD;
to design research methods and synthesis of work according to scientific rules”, besides,  to &#xD;
acquire the skills necessary to rigorously evaluate the scientific quality of different types of &#xD;
scientific documents (reports and articles).  It is a complex performance, which  they will &#xD;
gradually build by mastering knowledge, implementing skills, and doing it with interpersonal &#xD;
skills.</description>
