Titre: Etude et caractérisation des dépôts de couches minces par sol-gel sur le cœur des fibres optiques
Auteur(s): Demagh, N-E.; Chettouh, S.; Guessoum, A.
Résumé: The extrinsic fiber optic sensors combine optical fibers and an external transducer. The latter is the

sensitive element often functionalized to respond to an external stimulus, and therefore modulates the

propagated light. Different transducers were studied. In most of applications the cost is a parameter

that justifies the orientation of research towards the development of low cost transducer. Thin films

based on Sol Gel coating technic may provide cost-cutting solution for sensors applications and thus it

can be appropriate for a production-oriented technique. In this work, we develop and characterize thin

films of TiO2, SiO2, and ZnO deposited on 9µm optical fibers core diameter. The coating homogeneity

and uniformity of layers according to experimental parameters are analyzed.
