Titre: Les céramiques réfractaires de l’élaboration aux propriétés d’emploi
Auteur(s): Poirier, Jacques
Résumé: Refractories are part of an extended family of ceramics. A certain number of key words

characterizing in some way their complexity can be associated to these materials. These key words

are: heterogeneity, diversity of aggregate/binder/additive assemblies, capillary network, corrosion

through unbalanced physicochemical processes, non-linearity of the thermomechanical behavior and

scale effect. Appreciating the aptitude of a refractory product in an industrial context requires a

pluridisciplinary technical approach which requiresbasic knowledge in material and process

engineering, thermics, thermomechanics and physicochemistry of high temperatures.
